What Are The Various Sources of Coupons?
(Be sure to read our tutorial articles for more in-depth information)

Coupons can be found in Newspaper Inserts
Grocery coupons are usually in the Sunday edition of the local newspapers. The same coupon flyers can sometimes be found in your mailbox (depending on your location). Grocery stores usually change their ads on the same day every week, and these are usually delivered by mail, or if you have a newspaper subscription that runs the entire week, you may also get them in the newspaper. For those people who never seem to be able to find these in the mail, and who do not have a newspaper subscription, you can always find the local specials online.

Coupons can be found through online Coupon Printing sites

There are numerous sites online that offer printable coupons. Some charge for the service, while some are completely free. If you know that a coupon company usually has an insert in your local newspaper that you have not subscription for, you can usually find those same coupons on the website for that company. For instance:

Red Plum is one company that distributes manufacturer's coupon inserts to newspapers all across the country. To find the coupons that are currently active, just go to their website at Red Plum and you can print them out if you do not have a newspaper subscription.

Smart Source is another company that distributes manufacturer's coupons. For currently active coupons available through them, go to their website at Smart Source . If you do not have a newspaper subscription you can still print them out from the website.

P&G brandSaver is a coupon insert in most large newspapers that is distributed once monthly on the last Sunday of every month for the next month. A couple of times a year there may be an additional insert, especially during the holiday season. The inserts are full of discount coupons for Procter and Gamble products. Find the same (prinable) coupons at P&G Everyday Solutions.

What About Store Coupons?

Store Coupons can be found in Newspaper Inserts for each store
Store coupons are usually in the Sunday edition of the local newspapers. Department and specialty stores place their ads in newspaper inserts just before each in-store special occurs. Some are delivered by mail in a local mail advertising. You can always find the in-store specials on the website for that particular company. Some of these ads simply state which items have a percentage off of the price, while some will include physical coupons which must be cut out and given at check-out to get a discount. A lot of stores now offer 'reward' programs where specials are offered to customers who are members that non-members do not get

Some Department and Big-Box stores have 'online only' specials
There are numerous sites online that offer online-only specials. Yes, there is usually a shipping charge, though some offer free shipping. The convenience factor makes this a very attractive option.

If you are an avid Walmart shopper, they offer free shipping to the closest store, where you can pick up your item with your printed online receipt. Check other stores online with websites you wish to purchase items from as many are following Walmart's lead and will deliver to the nearest store with no additional shipping charge.

NOTICE:  It is well worth your time to go to the website of each store you plan on making a large purchase from. Many stores that have websites offer special, 'Online Only' discounts. Who knows? Your desired item may be cheaper online than in your local store. If the discount plus the shipping cost makes the item's final price the same as your local store, however, you may need to weigh your options. Do you have a way to transport the large item yourself? If not, the online special may still be a better deal since it will be delivered right to your door. For an online link to most of the online stores that are usually used by online services to co-ordinate weekly store specials to currently active coupons, see the Alphabetical listing of Grocery and Discount Stores Across America on this page
